I have a Thomas & Ann in the 1851 Scottish census, with Sarah born 1839 and 5 siblings, However Thomas was born in Ireland, County Kildare. Are you sure they were both born in Scotland?
I just assumed they were both from Scotland , Thomas may well have been from Ireland , could you possibly link me to the site with this info ?..

I found the info on Find my Past UK : which now has information from the Scottish census 1841-1901 but I cannot view the original. If the family I found is correct they are living at Mull Far, Kirkmaiden, Wigtownshire. Good luck
