Tip on Family Surname Martig

May somebody help me with the roots of that name?. My grandfather name was Maurice Martig. Born in the canton of Valais o Siro francia-switzerland, on 24-08-1889. No so sure.Migrated to Argentina, Baradero, Buenos Aires with his parents around 1897, (8 years old). Thank you very much. Regards, Joe.-
