I am working on genealogy for the surname of Dull, I can not find my Gr.Grandmothers Maiden name. . Is there anyone out there that can make some suggestions. Thanks
Maiden names appear in various places: obviously on Marriage Certificates and Birth/Baptismal records. Also look out for Electoral Rolls, women's societies, etc.
We need more information to be able to help you specifically.
Q.Whom did your g.grandmother marry? Records may already be at FamilySearch.org. Have a look. Easy to search online and it's free.
Also, check this site out, The Surname Navigatorp I'll bet you find out so much information on DULL you will hardly believe it.
Once you find out some concrete facts with your family tree, then check out the various genealogy and family tree websites like tribalpages, gencircles, geneanet, genesreunited $, rootsweb, rootschat, etc.
Also, try and find the Family Bible, old newspapers, have a chat to the older generation in your family that are still around, etc. Make sure you bring a cam-corder or tape cassette and a bunch of flowers and cakes does work well.
