Thank you for looking at the Bishop family members. I looked at your summary and I can not match any members of our family to your results. I am using a family bible and hand written notes that an aunt had done many years ago. I am starting to believe that the Bishop family has not left much of a footprint. If you are located in either Iowa or Illinois you may have heard of the Bishop's Cafiteria. I know that one of my grandfather's brothers started the chain resturant. From a famly photo album I found a pic of a general store at Lake Okaobji Iowa that another relative owned and ran.
My problem is that my parents plus all of my aunts and uncles have passed and none of my cousins ever thought to ask family related questions. We are planing a reunion next spring and I planned to have a family tree ready to share.
The last Bishop, my great-grandfather, that I have found accurate info does not include any birth certificate, which I assume would include his parents names.
Great-grandfather, Orrin (there is some question about how his name is spelled) - one cousin thought that the spelling was Orin - was married to Eva Jane Bishop (Cookman). Orin was born in Jun of 1860 in Fayette County, Iowa and died in 1904 but where I don't know. His wife Eva Jane Bishop (Cookman) was born in Jul of 1858 and died in 1939 in Rock County, Wisconsin.
If I can find more info on Orrin Bishop I hope that will led to further family members.
Any suggestions as to where to look for further information would be appricated.
Thanks
