Trying to Find Grandpa Shoemate

I have been unable to trace by Grandfather Shoemate. I knew him when I was young and I remember him. My Dad is deceased and so are all of his brothers and sisters so there is no one to ask about Grandpa and his mother and father. Grandpa's name is Peter Ellet Shoemate. He was supposedly born in Arkansas but there is no record. He is buried in Lamar Co., Texas.
