Twomey Brosnan Bresnan Bresnahan Kerin Families of Castleisland Kerry Ireland

My great great grandparents were Thomas Bresnan/Brosnan/Bresnahan and Mary Kerin who were born in Castleisland, Kerry, Ireland.
They came to New Zealand in 1874 with their daughters, one of whom (Johanna born Castle Island in 1852) married Timothy Twomey also from Castle Island. Timothy was a blacksmith.
Any connections to these families would be appreciated.

Hi,
Just wondering about some of the details above. could Johanna have been born in 1855? Were there other children - Mary b. 1856, Thomas b. 1860, Bridget b.1862 and Catherine b. 1863?

Hi Joan -
thanks for your response. it is really interesting. Unfortunately I have (momentarily) mislaid my original information on Johanna so I am backtracking and trying to find out what her sisters' names were. It does sound possible though I dont think my mother knew of a brother Thomas who came to New Zealand. Can you tell me anymore ? In the meantime I will try and get Johanna's marriage certificate which should give a more accurate date of birth.
