Walkers from Dallas and Russell County Alabama
Hello, I'm researching my fathers family, The Walkers who are African American. My search ended with the 1900 census; Bob (Paob) Walker born 1865 in Vernon, Dallas County. His mother was from N.Carolina and father was from Alabama. If you anymore information I would appreciate it.
Thank You.

I did find a James H Walker Born Oct 5, 1887 Lynchburg, Virginia Died Nov. 12, 1957 Cabell Co, West Virginia - I do not know if this person is African American but he is the only one that said on his death certificate that he was colored. Please read his find a grave page. It has more information. The ones here are the only ones that came close to being in your family. However I tried to go as far as I could but Bob Walker did not come up in Find a grave. However I put in the name of Robert Walker, even though they had several born in 1865 this one explains maybe why you could not bring him up in 1910 because he died of Typhoid Fever.

I did bring up Levi Walker but I can't find my notes but I believe he is buried in Maine. But I will get that information to you later. If you need more help or if you have other information then please let me know. Nsueturney60
Thank you so much Scott. I did order Bob Walker's death certificate if it's him he died in May 1909. Because in 1910 Sarah J is widowed on the 1910 census. I have the info on Ancestry.Com under Walker Hendry tree. We had no idea our ancestors were from Alabama because they settled in East Chicago Indiana. This is fascinating to me.
