WALLACE - Scotland, BELL - Isle of Man

Journal by Tunbridge

These are my ancestral lines which I have been researching for several years now, but included are collateral connections through marriage. For example, Smith, Forsyth, Scoular, McCormack, Grant, Gray, Clague, Monk - and many, many more.

I have solved many brick walls and discovered new living family, both here in Canada and abroad in England. I am still amazed at how educational and so very interesting family research can be. I have learned so much more than I ever did in high school.

I am willing to share information with folk who are also agreeable to sharing with me. As well, if I can be of any help with regard to searching for information in Canada, I am most willing to do so.

You may be able to help. Name is Alice Hooke (Forsyth) born in Lanark, Lanarkshire Scotland 1959. Have just starting researching family tree and have not had much luck. Parents Susan and Samuel Forsyth. Aunt Margaret Gray (Parkin) and Uncle Joseph (Joe) Parkin. Thomas Walker Parkin was a farmer at Newmains, wife Mary Menzies Parkin and John Forsyth was a mechanic in Allanton, wife Mary Hamilton Forsyth.
It would be great to communicate with like minded people researching their ancestry.

Unfortunately I have no Samuel Forsyth in my tree, nor are there any Parkins. Ancestry.com and/or ScotlandsPeople would be of great help to you, if you don't already have subscriptions.

As well, I have several Forsyth ancestors who left Scotland and settled in Nova Scotia - something you might want to look into.

Sorry, I can't be of much help and I wish you luck.
