Walter Burrell and Mary Brown Burrell

I am finding more confirmation that Walter Burrell (1742, Scotland -abt 1800 South Carolina) was married to Mary Brown and little indication that he was married to Mary Pruitt. I am wondering if the connection to Mary Pruitt is a mistake. Children are listed with one or the other Marys or sometimes both.
