I am looking for any members of the WARREN FAMILY formerly of LEFROY and North East OF THE TAMAR of TASMANIA in 1890s to early 1900s. JAMES WARREN, JESSE WARREN .
Hi Robert. Thanks for your intro. what I know would fill the back of a postage stamp. What I don't know would fill a Library. You must have heaps of news?? Are you in Tassie? Have you been to 'The Glen? J.J.
Hi James I am also very interested in the Warrens in that period. I grew up hearing about them because they inter-married with the Andersons, my mother's family, and were friends and work mates of my grandfather. I have researched them a bit.
James Charles Warren was born about 1870 in Miners Rest, Victoria, died in 1912 at The Glen. He married Emma Jane Anderson b. 1871 Ireland and died 1910 in The Glen. Their children were Raymond Gabriel born 1894 Hector Warren 1896-1956 Victor Reginald (Reg) Warren 1897-1960 Ralph Clifton Warren 1899-1968 Lucinda Margaret Warren 1899-1911 Lancelot Vivian Warren 1901- (Miriam) Edit Warren 1904-1955 Have got details of them and some photos. Not sure how to get them to you. My email is jannharvey@gmail.com
James Charles' father was James Warren 1840-1912 and his wife was Ellen Jessie (Jessie) Beeson. I think you probably have read about them already on this site, so I won't repeat that.
His father was James David William Hambleton Warren 1808 Carshalton, Surrey, England and he died in Victoria in 1859. He was transported. Got lots of details about him too. He married Mary Ann Carr born 1810. Lots of details, children etc
Hi Janine My Great Grandfather was Edwin Warren , no record of his birth could be found in the Tasmanian records. His siblings were Mary 17 August 1836 - 4 November 1895 Joshua Featherston August 1837 - 24 March 1901 James 9 October 1840 - 1 October 1912 And Edwin About 1847 - 5 June 1894 I had met a researcher named Maree Ring many years ago at the Hobart Library and told her I was researching James Warren. She informed me later on that on the Wedding Banns of James Warren and Mary Ann Carr, James had entered MACY as his middle name.Maree also said that Mary arrived in Tasmania on the sailing ship the MOROPE from Canton 1831. I have checked the passenger list years later and Mary is not listed and where did Maree get this information from is confusing unless its on the Wedding Banns.I had Tony Satchell do a identikit of James Macy Warren from his convict list, and many years later Tony had placed them in a book that he had published called For Better or Worse. Convict lives Shaped by Transportation. ISBN 0-646-42860-8. James is on pages 150-151 Len I have a bit of information that I have found over the years
Hi, I am a 5th generation of James Warren born 1808 and have limited information on this family. I know his son also James born 9 Oct 1840 died 1 Oct 1912 together with his son Charles J Warren born 14 Mar 1870. Both were buried 4 Oct 1912 so I gather they were killed in the same incident. I am new to family research and would like to find out more of the pioneering history in Tasmania. My Great Grandfather was Hector Eric Warren and father was Bruce Eric Warren. Any information or photography that would assist me would be greatly appreciated. i have a pedigree chart that dates back to 1780 for James Warren and 1741 for Thomas Beeson.
