Auckland Museum in New Zealand have a record for Francis Herbert Pennington which states his father was living in Eltham. Could this be more correct than Epsom? http://muse.aucklandmuseum.com/databases/general/Cenotaph/77777.detail?Ordinal=1&c_surname_search=pennington
Thank you for responding to my question, re marriage to Maude. I dont have any record of the where abouts of his father, other than he was born in Te Awamutu, which is not far from Auckland. But many of the Penningtons were Taranaki folk as well. I think Iread in a letter that Bert went to Auckland in his final years, so maybe he was returning to home roots, but just as equally he spent time in Taranaki. Does anyone know what happened to the marriage to Maude. I am also looking for info re Francis Herbert having an illigitimate child born 1930, a daughter, my mother. I am very much aware that any info would be third hand, having been passed along on the gossip or interest grapevine. Finding ones connections and attempting to fill in the gaps is immensely gratifying. We have been blessed with one branch giving us a family booklet outlining the early history, beginning with the arrival of Joseph and Hannah Pennington to NZ. but snippets of information, accurate or not, can often lead to verification. Many thanks
