Washington DC Trip

I don't know if this is the right place to ask this question, but.... I have signed up for a research trip to Washington DC. This will be the 1st time for me. We have our choice of DAR headquarters, National Archives or Library of Congress. The last couple of years, I've been really focused on family history. I've visited a few local historical societies, cemeteries & libraries and even found a rev war patriot & have my DAR application in process. A lot of my work I've found online. I am looking for any suggestions on "plans of attack" on this 1-day research trip. Thanks in advance!

This is a great place to ask that question. I wish I could answer you.

I have taken the liberty to change the title of your post to better encourage people to notice and answer.

When's your trip?

Hi, I posted your inquiry on twitter and found a very helpful person from DC (@auntjill) who graciously posted her notes on the subject on Evernote.

The short answer is that all three locations are very different in the types of information they provide, so it all depends on your specific family research needs.

Read her notes here: DAR, NoC, and NARA

You don't need an Evernote account to view that.

Hey Scott. Thanks for the help! My trip is Oct 11, so I still have some time to plan.
