Where to Find Information

My Grandfather, Herbert Edward Cannings, born in Wimborne Dorset 1903, disappeared after divorcing my Grandmother in 1927. I cannot find out whether he re-married or when he died. I have searched the internet but cannot find any information! Any ideas where I can look? Regards, Charles Cannings
