Who was Adolpha D Peck

My great grandfather was Adolpha D Peck who was married to Mary Maxfield. They had two children, Charles Everett Peck and Jesse Bushyhead Peck. Charles was my grandfather but I know nothing about his father and brother. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Adolpha PECK and Mary MAXFIELD appear in four family trees online at RootsWeb.

It appears that Adolpha PECK was the 2nd husband of Mary MAXFIELD according to LDS Database at FamilySearch. See Pedigree Resource File for Adolpha D. PECK.

NB I keep seeing references to Clan Paint (Gourd) and think there might be Cherokee connections.

You are correct. I have the Cherokee connection back to 1700 but nothing about the Peck side.

Maybe rootschatters can help you find some concrete info. RootsChat. Register as a new user, free site, experiences lots of traffic!

Do you have your tree online anywhere? It's a good start for getting in touch with your distant cousins who may have the 'genie' bug.

Our Cherokee connection comes from the marriage of Mary Maxfield to Adolphus Peck. Adolphus was the son of William Peck and Josphine. Mary was the daughter of Rachael Barnes, Rachael was the daughter of Mary Foreman Barnes who was the daughter of John Anthony Foreman. Mary Maxfield was previously married to James Milner and had 4 children(perhaps offspring still abound). Most of this data was obtained from Histroy of the Cherokee by Emmet Starr. Adolphus and Mary had two son, Charles Everett and Jesse Bushyhead Peck. Charles fathered two daughters, Ruth and Nita befor dying of cancer in July 1965. Jesse Peck remains a mystery, my Grandfather never spoke his name and I never knew he existed until I started this search. Does anyone know anything about Jesse Bushyhead Peck borned between 1898 and 1901 in cooweescoowee,Indian Territory, Oklahoma?
