Who was James Brass

Hey there,
I am looking for any information on James Brass born 1854, died 1919.
He arrived Bluff, NZ 1875 aged 21 on the "Christian Mc Ausland" ship, registered as a farm labourer.
He married Martha McCubbin Taylor in NZ in 1889.

James Brass is my great great grandfather...hit a brick wall with this one...any help really appreciated.
