William Howard d. 25 April 1887

Journal by marchanr

Arrived South Australia on 28 Dec 1838 on sailing ship Glenalvon.

Did he work for William Peacock who supposedly chartered the ship?

Where was he born in England?

What did he do in south Australia after marrying Eliza Jacobs.

In later life he became a land owner in Dalkey and Alma Plains.

His obituary
A gloom has been cast over the whole
district by the death of Mr. William
Howard, of Alma, which took place last
night after a few days' illness . He was
one of the oldest residents of Alma, and
was highly respected by all for his sterling
character and kindly sympathy. In the
early days of the colony he was in the
employ of the late Mr. William Peacock,
and was afterwards farming at Enfield.

Thanks for that, we have his death at Alma which is close to Hamley Bridge where one of his children lived so I guess he was being nursed. What is your connection with the Howard Family? What is the origin of the obituary?
