We live in a house in Five Dock that we believe was built by Alfred Charles Bailey jnr in the 1880s. We have copies of Old System titles showing his name and occupation as stonemason. He bought the land in Dec 1880 then took out a mortgage in 1881. He died in March 1921.

I'd be interested in finding out more about him and the Bailey family eg the location of their quarry/quarries in this area.

Our house is a cottage but built on large sandstone foundations and is full brick ie a double skin of sand stock bricks. So, it is 130 years old and looking forward to many more years. Thank you Alfred!
