Seeking any BEST descendants which originated in Helland during the early 1600s with John Best who had two wives, Jane Hendra and Grace John. The family moved to other Parishes such as Bodmin, St Dennis, St Stephens in Brannel around the village of Nanpean and into St Austell. I have just over 7000 Best's or their descendants in my database including New Zealand, Australia, quite a few States in the USA and into Canada. PS I am particularly trying to find out the maiden surname of the Mother of a Philemon Best, born abt 1770 in St Stephens in Brannel to a Richard and Mary Best. Richard Best was son of Thomas Best and Mary James, but the maiden surname of Richard's Wife has eluded me. It could possibly be found in the NON CONFORMIST REGISTERS for St Stephens in Brannel where they were married. Philemon was Baptised as an adult in 1801 and married Frances Varcoe the shortly after. Both are buried in the St Dennis Churchyard.

Dear Jim, Hi there. Have you tried rootschat in regards to getting somebody to do parish registry lookups for you? That would be your best bet since you're an Aussie like myself.

Can you check your database for these surnames that I have from Cornwall/Devon in my 8000 odd database:-

hello jim,i sent you an email yesterday regarding the best family of st stephen in brannel.did you get it? if not, i will try again now.i know that you have been trying to find out about george best,and his brothers john henry and victor emmanuel. george was my grandmas first husband. her name was martha dungey 1886-1937. they had 2 children,my aunt ivy and uncle len. they married st austell 1907.my late father is only a best by name.his name was stanley best 1913-1995, and martha was his mum.the brothers mum was ellen best,nee eddy. ellen treated my dad the same as her other grandchildren, even more so, because he was the youngest.they were extremely close.i have lots to tell you about all of them.grandma ellen was a true legend in her own lifetime. please check the website lizandstu.com, we are all on there, kind regards,simon best
