Two search results for 'Christian Debus' at FamilySearch.org LDS Family History and Genealogy

Incidentally, one of my 4g maternal grandmothers was named Maria Gertrud DEBUS born c1795 Prussia (parents and siblings names unknown), she married my 4g grandfather Anton WEBER.

Thankyou for your message. The Christian R Debus we are looking for was on the 1841 south Australian Census and was down as arrived by 1840-12-31 on passenger arrivals. 4g/grandfather Johann Philip Christian Debus, wife and children are also on the lists as having arrived on Solway on 16.10.1837 from Hamburg. Christian R is we beleive his brother. Johann's sister was Anna Maria Debus we have records of her from then but not Christian R.

Dear Cheryl, Hi there. Perhaps you can find out more at Rootschat - Emigrants to Australia board

Sign up as a new member, have the same username 'debo' as on here in case someone is looking for you. Create a new topic (like a journal here), in your profile list all the surnames you are researching and they will show up in tiny font at the bottom of each new topic you post.

If he was in SA, there is a rootschatter that has bdm indexes on cd-rom and can do lookups for you. You never know, perhaps his parents names are listed somewhere.
