How much info do you have Demelza?
He was born in Thames, Waikato 9 July 1886 to Charles Samuel 'Sam' Farmer & Alice Emily Powell.
He married Letitia Best (1880-1946) in 1905
* Haven't find any children yet
He was a conscientious objector to serving in WWI and was deprived of his civil rights for 10 years from 10 Dec 1918. He was then living at Niger Street, Arch Hill, Auckland. However their rights were restored in Sep 1927, a year earlier than intended.
Letitia died in Auckland 27 Aug 1946 and buried Waikaraka
Walter died 14 Dec 1959 aged 73.
* Haven't found him in Auckland or Thames yet

He has obviously used an alias along the way. As far as I can see he didn't serve in the war. He was in fact, a defaulter. Maybe by another name.
It will help in my search if you can tell me his childrens names & birth dates. Even just your dad.
He is not recorded as buried in Mangere, under that name anyway. Have you personaly sighted his grave?
Hi he is also my grandfather. Although he was with my grandmother Kathleen but they never married she died quite young I can’t remember her surname but think it was Pound. They had five children.
