Hi there, could you give a bit more information please?
Do you know how old he was when he departed?
Married? Children?, occupation?

If you look on New Zealand BDM and Papers Past there are a lot of Duncan McColls.

Sorry about the brevity Crawford. Just dipping my toe in the water.

Duncan McColl was born in 1887 Dunbarton & Clydesbank. Occupation Baker, Farmer - Benderloch.
He had three brothers Sol, Jack and Donald.
He meet Catherine O'Grady from Ireland on the ship to New Zealand and married in Manderville in 1917.
They had three boys, Donald, John (Jack) and Peter.
He died 8/5/1953 and is buried in Nightcaps Southland alongside his wife.
I will look up the two resources you mentioned.
