Maclardy or St Clair Maclardy

My father William John Foster Maclardy had the first radio station in Australia, he first began daily test transmissions in October 1923 from his Amateur radio transmitter in Philip St, Sydney under the call sign 2HP. A few days later the first commercial radio station 2SB owned by a small company, Sydney Broadcasters began test broadcasts from the same address and a regular broadcast service on 13th November, 1923. On December 13 in a live program they received Official inauguration and the Postmaster General made a speech. On 10th January, 1924 Station 2FC received inauguration and 2SB thinking the call signs sounded too much alike received permission to change their name and call sign to Broadcasters Ltd and 2BL.

His sister Rosalinde Maclardy married Sir Arthur Tedder who was high up in the RAF during WW11 and he was second in command to Dwight Eisenhower for D day and also took the surrender of Germany. Unfortunately she was killed in an air crash in Egypt in 1943

My birth certificate is in the name of StClair-Maclardy, but I have never found what the connection is. MacLardie is a sept of the MacDonald clans but there are so many of them. I did see a Sinclair in one of their histories. My grandfather and great grandfather were from Glasgow.
