If there is anybody out there who knows anything about Jacob and Margreth Jurd, who married in either Interlaken or Vordemwald on 16t January 1576, who lived in Vordemwald from December 1576 to 1592, and had a family of 10 children, two of whom died very young. I want to know if they originated in Switzerland or if they migrated there. Any information would be gratefully received.

The name in my Grandmother and Great Grandmother\'s name is Lauder, apparently it is sometimes Lander.
I have similar problems with my family name, which is not Lauder, apparently the misconception is due to those making the record, have trouble understanding the persons accent. My grandmother was born in 1895, birth recorded in Windsor. Her mother was born a Lauder and Married a Maver, he either died, or they were divorced,
there is a mystery here and I would really love to solve it. There is a birth and death recorded for a Christina Maver, it appears it was a still birth in 1876. That I found out today, and it was in Victoria.

My grandmother born in Windsor, grew up in Marrickville and lived in Balmain. My knowledge of her family history is sketchy at best. I feel there was no love lost between her family the Popplewells and the Lanes, the family into which she married. She had 5 siblings, and was the last child.
