Researching Banks Family of Cumbria/Yorkshire UK

Banks Family
In 1883 William Banks was born in Dunolly, Victoria, Australia. A Gold Miner, he became a coal miner on moving to Wonthaggi in South Gippsland, Victoria with his wife Rubenia Higgins as some of the very first settlers in the new Black Coal mining town.
His father, John Banks was born in 1845, in Dunolly while his wife, Mary Ann Parkinson was born in Bristol, England in 1845 and died in Dunolly, Victoria. Australia in 1923.John and Ann are buried in the Old Cemetery Dunolly. The family tree of the Parkinson family is well documented.
John Banks was the son of Joseph Banks born 1828 and Ann Ferguson and both are believed to have died in Dunolly or in Australia.
Linking any of this branch of the family to relatives (deceased) in Cumbria is difficult and it is believed many of the family are still living in Cumbria. There is ample evidence of a strong link to Cumbria.
Would it be possible to guide the way to further research, locating the family to which they belong or assisting in any way?
