Greetings. I am posting for possible help in researching my Griffin line from Greenville, and Anderson Counties SC. My biggest brick wall is the parentage of Emily Jane Griffin who married Jesse Wooten. Both were born around 1830 to 1840 time range and according to the census records Emily was born anywhere from abt 1838 to 1845 in Greenville County. One census indicates Nov of 1842. I have been able to finder her in the 1850 census living with a Moses Watson family in Greenville, but beyond that I've had no luck. She and Jesse got married abt 1864 presumably in Greenville County. By the 1880 census they had moved to Anderson County, SC. The last census I am able to find her is the 1910 Anderson County in Willamston. She was a widow. She died estimated about 1913 because I am unable to find a death certificate for either. There is an Emiline who married a J. Wooten and are buried in Anderson Co. I have proven them to be a separate couple. I do not know where Emily and or Jesse are buried. Any help appreciated. I likely can give more information upon asking but I don't have everything in front of me at this time. Thank you. Steve Pearson spearson55@chartermi.net
