I know he existed as he was my maternal gradmother's father. She was Rose Ellen, born September 1894 and according to school registers she suffered from St. Vitus Dance. William is listed as her father.
William married Frances Jones in Bromley. His father was also called William and he was a brewer.

I cannot find William (1870) nor his father in the 1871 census nor the 1881 census which would greatly help in finding out more.

William's daughter, Rose Ellen, born in 1894 at Bow, London, married had children and died in 1936.
