Mary Ann SULLIVAN was born 1840-1906, she was born in Scilly Cork Ireland.
She married my greatgrandfather Henry John BOWBRICK born 1838-1902, he was born in Rainham Essex, he served in the Royal Navy for 30 yrs, on ships such as the Warrior and HMS Victory, he also did 2 yrs hard labour inHalifax New Brunswick Canada, possible connected to the Canadian gold rush or even the American civil war.
Mary and Henry had 7 children, Henry John b 1866-1928,( my grandfather) Michael George 1867, Sarah Jane 1874, Stephen Joseph 1885, Georgina 1878-1882, Mary Ann 1872-1897, Esther 1880, all born in Portsmouth Hampshire England.

Hi all, just to addsome more info on my family, Henry John Bowbrick b 1838 in Rainham Essex, England. Henry was my great-grandfather, he married Mary Ann Sullivan b 1840-1906,Mary was born in Scilly Cork Ireland. They were married on the 31/10/1864, at St Mary's Church in Portsea ( Portsmouth) Hampshire England.Henry joined the navy and was a sailor for 30 yrs. Of the many ships he served on were H.M.S Warrior, the first iron clad ship, also Nelson's ship H.M.S.Victory.
These 2 ships can still be seen at the R.N. dockyard here in Portsmouth. I have lots of history on Henry , but have hit a block on Thomas, although i have made contact with 2 other distant relatives who are also looking for him. I am sure eventually one of us will get lucky and find this next step in our tree.

THOMAS was the father of HENRY JOHN BOWBRICK b 2/2/1815 in camberwell surrey. (shoreditch).

HENRY married JANE FLISHER b 1811 in sandgate kent,married in 1837 at st olave southwark. HENRY was a merchant clerk, JANE was a bonnet maker.

Their children were, Jane b1835 in folkstone, HENRY JOHN b1838 in rainham essex, WILLIAM b 1841 in shoreditch, EDWARD CHARLES b1843 camberwell surrey, STEPHEN b 1845 in sandgate, GEORGE b 1846 in sandgate, ESTHER b 1848 in sandgate, SARAH b 1851 in cheriton kent.
