Barrows from Niagara Falls, NY

On my husband's side, I know as far back as his great-grandfather. I have Nicholas Barrows (b. 1977) who is my husband. His father is Lawrence John Barrows (b. 1940s), born in Niagara Falls, NY. He has a brother Edward. His father was John Luke Barrows (b. 1914) from Niagara Falls, NY. He had brothers Raplh, Leland and sisters Doris, Mary and Clair. Their father was James Edward Barrows (b. 1884). His wife was named Orpha, but I do not have a maiden name for her. I also do not know James Edward's father's name. I keep running into the more famous Sartwelle-Barrows branch (not sure if they are related, but it is quite possible) also from Niagara Falls in the 1800's, but that is not our line, at least as far back as I can tell. I am looking for information on James Edward Barrows who was married to an Orpha and they lived in the Upstate NY area, though James Edward was working on bridges to Canada and drops off the US census occasionally because he technically lives in Canada at the time. Frustrating! :)

Looking for Margaret Cherry (b. late 1800s) married to Harry Cherry

I am hitting a brick wall when it comes to my great-great grandmother, Maggie. Family lore is that Margaret's maiden name was Cherry and she married a Cherry. I believe they are from the Southern Ohio/West Virginia area. I have the birth certificate of my great grandmother, Hallie Etta Cherry and her sister Gladys Bell Cherry. Gladys Bell went on to marry a Rolston, and I have her obituary, which names Harry and Margaret (both deceased) as her parents in the 1990's. Family lore also states that Maggie's parents were Albert Cherry and Katherine Hawkins, but I cannot find anything to prove this. In the 1920 census, Maggie is living with her "half-sister" Elizabeth Hawkins (listed as divorced) in Pleasants, WV, however, Maggie is listed as single (not divorced or widowed). This is strange, because both of her children were born then. Hallie Etta married my great-grandfather when he was in his 40's and she was about 13-15, in West Virginia. I have her marriage certificate. Her mother is listed but her father is left blank. This is something of a family mystery. Can anyone help?

McLellan from Rothesay, Isle of Bute, Scotland

Hello.
My mother is a McLellan. She was born in Coatbride, Scotland. I know a lot about her mother's family (Blades) but not a lot about my grandfather's family (McLellan). I know my grandfather's name was John Newton McLellan and he was born in Rothesay, Isle of Bute, Scotland. He had four brothers (I think one was named George, one Robert and one Neal - I have met Neal and Robert). Grandpa was born in 1928 and died in 2002. I do not have any information on his father, not even a first name. I will ask my mother, but I believe she doesn't remember because she moved to the states when she was 5 and I believe her grandfather was dead by this time. She only remembers visiting her grandmother (named Margaret) when she was 12.
Any information would be appreciated.
