Looking for William and Elizabeth MORRISON - Hobart, AUS

I am looking for information on William and Elizabeth MORRISON (nee HAUGHTON) - my gr-gr-gr Grandparents. The only information I have on him so far is the following newspaper notice of William Morrison's death in The Mercury (Hobart) 6 Sept 1872

MORRISON - On Tuesday, 3rd September, at his residence, 64 Goulburn-street, William Morrison, late of H. M. 48th Regiment, aged 64 years.

This notice was copied to New Zealand papers and added to with the inclusion of 'and father of W. Morrison, Ketch Falcon'. This W. is my gr-gr grandfather W. John Morrison.

The only information I have on Elizabeth is on her son John's death record where it states the name of his parents, his father's occupation - soldier - and his place of birth - Dublin, Ireland.

I have not had any luck tracing William in regiment records or discovering his place of birth. Any help with William and Elizabeth would be appreciated.

Janet

Looking for Jeremiah RYAN - Tipperary IRE

The only information I have regarding my gr-gr-gr Grandfather comes from the death record of his son - my gr-gr Grandfather Martin RYAN who died in Waitahuna, South Otago, NZ on Aug 15, 1900. This record states Martin was born in Tipperary Ireland in 1839 to Jeremiah and Johanna Ryan(nee GLEESON).

A family story tells of the flight of 3 Ryan brothers William, Jeremiah and Martin (with fianc?e Johanna DWYER whom he married in London)from Kilmore, Cappaghwhite, Tipperary to Australia (where William settled) and then NZ after an incident with a gun and their landlord. A romantic notion but unverified at this stage. A sister Mary Ann Ryan stayed in Ireland and married Patrick CROWE.

I am interested in any information about Jeremiah and confirmation of my gr-gr-gr Grandmother's name. It could be Judy or Johanna and any variation of Gleason/Gleeson/Glyson.

Thanks, Janet

Looking for Henry WINT(E)RINGHAM NZ and ENG

Henry WINT(E)RINGHAM arrived in NZ from England on 31st Jan 1843 aged 21 on the ship Thomas Sparks as a groom. He married Jane PRINCE and they had 11 children (that I know of). Sometime after 1864 Henry disappeared. Family lore is that he missed Yorkshire so much he abandoned his wife and family and returned to England. I would be interested in any info on the early or later life of Henry - my gr-gr-gr grandfather.
