Edwin Sargent married Agnes Barrott in Stockton, Warwick England in 1874 and emigrated to NZ on The Assaye, a ship chartered to bring assisted immigrants to NZ under a scheme of Julius Vogel's (PM of NZ). I am interested in knowing more about the families in Stockton. They appear to have lived there for generations.

My Great Great Grandmother was Ellen Matilda (known as Helen) Spratt(nee)Stafford. Her great grandfather John Stafford came to Ireland during the time of the 'Scottish Plantation' and settled, probably at Bohevny near Enniskillen in County Fermanagh Ulster. When I was researching the family in England some unexpected links came up. Now I am looking for a way to verify them.
