My 2nd great-grandmother maternal was named Rachel aka Rachael R. Drake, born in NYC I have always been told. She married Francis Jacques Corner and they issued 4 children. Among those was my great-grandmother Arvilla Elizabeth 'Lizzie' Corner. I was told by my late grandmother was told by her mother Lizzie Corner and grandmother Rachel R. Drake Corner, that Rachel was descended from the family of Sir Francis Drake. I know Sir Francis had no legitimate children conceived through either of his marriages. But could you please tell me if you have come across the name Rachel or Rachael R. Drake in your Drake research? I have reached a dead-end as my own research comes through a maternal line - very difficult. I've been unsuccessful in determining which, of all the NY lines of Drake may have been that of my 2nd great-grandmother Rachel.
