Evening Post, 27 May 1943 Mr William Godfrey Holdsworth, who died at his residence in Fairview Crescent, Kelburn, today, in his 95th years, was connected with Sunday school work for the greater part of his lifetime and did distinguished work in that sphere. He was the first treasurer of the Wellington Sunday School Baptist Union on its formation in 1880 and held that office for 50 years. There were times during that period when the union's finances were at a low ebb, and when Mr Holdsworth came to its rescue with advances, regardless of whether they could be repaid or not. For many years he was superintendent of the old Courtenay Place Congregational Sunday School, on the site of the present Paramount Theatre, and later was superintendent of the Cambridge Terrace Congregational Sunday School. Subsequently he was identified for a long period with Sunday school work at the Kelburn Presbyterian Church. Mr Holdsworth's wife died in 1941, and there were no children of the marriage. The late Mr F. Holdsworth, of Kelburn, was a half-brother

Poverty Bay Herald, 8 February 1911 A fashionable wedding was celebrated at "Wychingham" the residence of Mr Walter Ensor, Puha, this afternoon. The contracting parties were Miss Margaret Adair Black (sister of Mrs Walter Charles Ensor (Kathleen Annette)) and Mr Charles Granville Holdsworth. The Rev Mr Meyer was the officiating clergyman, and the ceremony was witnessed by a large number of friends. The bride was given away be her brother, Mr John Black, of Hobart, and she was charmingly attired in a gown of Imperial ivory duchess satin, handsomely trimmed with French Limerick lace, bugle beads and seed pearls. She was attended by four bridesmaids, namely, Misses Park MacIndoe, of Hobart, Beatrice Holdsworth, Phyllis Ensor and Leila Ensor. The bridegroom was attended by Mr *Bernard Holdsworth as best man. At the conclusion of the ceremony, Mr and Mrs Ensor entertained the guests at a sumptuous wedding breakfast, during which felicitous speeches were made. The happy couple were the recipients of a large number of beautiful presents. They leave by to-night's steamer on a honeymoon trip to the Southern lakes
