I have been researching my husbands ancestors and have always asked relatives for any information and photographs that I could scan/copy. Imagine my surprise when my husband's brother in England was clearing out his attic and came across some old pictures of his late mother. They were just views but when he picked one up it just fell apart in his hands. Out of the back fell 5 little photographs taken in about mid 1880's at a studio in Carlinville, Illinios. The photo's were of Barry's great grandfather's brother Charles Dorks, his wife Elizabeth and some of their children, probably taken just after the arrived in Illinois to send back to the family in England. The photographs are so clear and had never seen the light of day for many years. Am so glad to have found them and to think they could have been lost forever.
