When I lived in NJ I always helped Aunt Pauline Brown (Osborne) tend to the graves. My father and his family are buried here. I always wondered where we came from. The dates on some of these gravestones are so old. I always was into the history of Howell Twp and my family was part of it. My dad always talked about places like Fagan's Cave and Dogcorners, places that don't exist anymore. He went to the Southard School when it was a one room schoolhouse. My Aunt Pauline used to play with one of the Rockefeller children when she was a child herself. She told me stories about The Golf House (Rockefeller Estate) before it was turned into Ocean County Park. These are relatives that I know who are buried in the cemetary. We are related to the Applgates, Claytons and Laytons as well. Not sure which branch of the family. Will keep looking.
