Bio

I was a primary school teacher for 25 years and then worked in the banking industry for 10 years. i am now retired. I decided to look into my family history as my father is 90 this year. He landed on the D day beaches in France on the first day of the invasion in WW2. His surname and my maiden name was Bauckham and my dad wanted to know where the name came from and who hid ancestors were. This started my search. My mother's name was Stockwell and so my family tree grew. All of the family on the Bauckham/Stockwell side I have found lived worked and died around Maidstone in Kent and surrounding villages in the River Medway area and the Weald of Kent. The other names in my extended family tree are Brungar/Brunger some of whom emigrated to New Zealand, I believe in the 1930's, Springett my grandmother's maiden name, Smart my married name, Hook and Barr.
