Hi all,

Looking for information about Peter SHEARER born 1848 Stronsay Ornkney Islands Scotland who came with his younger brother John Peace Shearer to New Zealand.

John married & stayed in New Zealand but Peter headed to Australia, could have been Melbourne & eventually died there. Would like to find out if Peter married & had a family.

Am researching my BOONE connection from Dartmouth, Devon, England
which so far are back to William BOONE 1719-1796 who married Florence LEE c1720-1790. They were from Dartmouth Devon England.

Florence & William BOONE's children:

2. John BOONE b: 1750 Ditto
3. Agnes BOONE b:2 Jul.1754 Stoke, Flemington Devon
4. William BOONE b: 1756 one of the above Devon
5. Joseph BOONE b: 1759 one of the above Devon
6. Thomas BOONE b:1761 Dartmouth, Devon

CRAIG and BARR Scotland

Peter CRAIG married Catherine Muir BARR in 1861 Paisley Scotland

In 1861 census East Head of Side Farm 100 acres was farmed by Thomas CRAIG aged 51 & unmarried.


West Head of Side Farm was farmed by Peter CRAIG who had married Catherine Muir BARR.

In 1871 census the two farms were farmed by Peter CRAIG, then aged 60.

Thomas b. 1810 & Peter b.1811 were sons of Catherine CRAIG who lived near Finniebrae at Banklug Farm.

At the time it was offered for sale Finniebrae was occupied by Alan Pollock CRAIG, son of Peter CRAIG.

BOMFORTH

MARTHA BOMFORTH born 1841 East Retford, Nottingham England. Daughter of Henry BOMFORTH and Caroline SHAW East Retford, Nottingham.
Martha died 10 June 1880 buried Okain's Bay Cemetery Banks Peninsula New Zealand.

Martha aged 9 mths arrived in New Zealand on the 'Olympus" with her parents, which sailed from Deptford 13 June 1842, left Gravesend 16 june 1842 arriving in Nelson New Zealand 28 Oct. 1842.

Other members of Henry family were his brother John BOMFORTH 37 carpenter, his wife Harriett 38, daughter Harriet 14 Seamstress, Sarah Jane 11, Eliza 7, Mary 5 & sons George 3 and James BOMFORTH infant.

Henry (her father was killed in the Wairau Incident & his brother John lost an arm)

On 18 Sept 1861 in Okain's Bay, Banks Peninsula, NZ., Martha Holstein, widow, MS BOMFORTH, married Charles Harltey (bootmaker, sailor, whaler) born 1831 London, England.

John CRAIG (b1812) married Elizabeth ORR (: 5 May 1813, Chr: 13 May 1813 Kilbirnie/Dairy, Ayrshire, Scotland

Elizabeth's parents were:
George ORR born around 1787 in Kilburnie Ayrshire
Elizabeth McEwing born 1791 Kilbirnie Ayrshire
Their marriage date: 1812 in Kilburnie

Elizabeth Orr's brother was John ORR born 22 April 1815 Stoneyholm, Kilbirnie.

John TATTERSALL

John TATTERSALL was born c. 1795 Accrington Lancashire England.
He was convicted & transported to Tasmania Australia leaving behind a young wife & two children whom he never saw again.

He married Sarah Waters from London England in Launceston Tasmania & they had several children.

Would anyone know who John's siblings and Parents were please.
