Friends of the Lubbock (TX) Library has received 3 copies of the document, A History and Genealogy of thee Gookin Family of England, Ireland, and America, compiled by Richard Gookins of Salem, OR and revised in 1985. The "Note to the Reader" indicates this as an extensive addition to part of the 1983 edition. It contains "almost 4,100 names thus indexed [that] represent probably less than one-third of all those persons in the section."
