Lawrences of New York and New Jersey

I am an ancestor of Thomas Lawrence, one of three brothers (William & John) who arrived in New England from the UK in 1635 on the ship "Planter." (This was discovered when I submitted my brother's DNA to Family Tree dna). They eventually moved to Newtown, NY and became quite prominent. Actually, Thomas arrived a few years later. Most of them are buried in The Lawrence Cemetery in Queens, NY, a registered landmark. I myself are trying to find the link between me and my siblings and our great grandfather, James Dean Lawrence. He and his wife Emma, along with two infants, are buried in the Lake Ronkonkoma Cemetery on Long Island. However, I cannot find any record of their deaths, which would provide me with more information. I don't know where they died. I know they lived in Rahway, NJ in 1880. My grandfather, Edwin, was born there in 1869. James Dean L. died in 1896 and Emma in 1890. I cannot believe they died in NJ and were brought to Long Island for burial in those days. Of course the 1890 census was destroyed by fire so that was no help. Any help would be so greatly appreciated. This has become my brick wall connecting me to my ancestor Thomas.
