"Looking for Castano of Spain"

I recently discovered the birthplace of my gradfather,
Francesco CASTANO in Montepaone, Calabria, Italy. I also learned that CASTANO first came to Montepeone when the Spanish invaded southern Italy. When? I do no know. I was told that the first CASTANO was on the Spanish ship, and he was the pharmacist. He was from Barcelona, Spain.
