Charles is my grandfather and was born I think in Athlone Garrison in 1863.I know Charles was in the RIC as this was the profession given in the 1911 census.He was married to Bridget Fitzgerald from Co Kerry and had 9children all born in Cork.They lived their later years in Tralee where he died in 1949.As the name is so scarce I have traced a Charles who joined the Royal Irish Constabulary 29-04-1915to 16-08=1918.His reg no was 5502 and rank was corporal.If it was my grandfather he would have been 52 which is unlikely but not out of the Question.One of his children was Charles but he was only 9 in the census which would have made him only 13 or 14 which was less likely.I am finding it very hard to get Info on them.Any help would be greatly appreciated,again thank you Joseph.PS I have a feeling that my great grandfather was also in the RIC.
