Looking for others researching ancestors which are veterans of both the Crimean War and the US Civil war. New York soldiers of German or Polish ancestry who served in the Kings German Legion, 1855-1856.

This soldier, based at Shorncliffe, married Mary Whitehead, a resident of the Sandgate workhouse May 1855 at Cheriton parish, Kent. She had several sisters and I think was the daughter of Jeremiah. She is my GGGrandmother and I would like to contact my Whitehead relatives.
