A Thanksgiving Genealogy Reading List

Journal by Scott_J

As I read around the genealogy blogging community, there are a number of posts related to Thanksgiving. Of course, since the pilgrims are some of the oldest US-based ancestors (non-native, of course), Thanksgiving is a time for reflecting on our ancestors.

Here is some great reading, in no particular order...

* <a href="http://westinnewengland.blogspot.com/2011/11/my-ellingwood-mayflower-ancestry.html">Bill West: MY ELLINGWOOD MAYFLOWER ANCESTRY</a> cousin! (Hopkins)
* <a href="http://westinnewengland.blogspot.com/2011/11/my-allerton-and-warren-mayflower.html">Bill West: MY ALLERTON AND WARREN MAYFLOWER ANCESTRY</a>
* <a href="http://a3genealogy.blogspot.com/2011/11/african-american-mayflower-descendents.html">African American Mayflower Descendents?</a>
* <a href="http://www.cluewagon.com/2011/11/guest-post-from-a-real-pilgrim/">Guest Post from a Real Pilgrim</a>
* <a href="http://pk-pollyblog.blogspot.com/2011/11/giving-thanks-for-some-mayflower-roots.html">Giving Thanks for Some Mayflower Roots</a>
* <a href="http://www.geneamusings.com/2011/11/my-mayflower-connections-1-george-soule.html">Randy Seaver: My Mayflower Connections - 1. George Soule</a>
* <a href="http://www.geneamusings.com/2011/11/my-mayflower-connections-2-william.html">Randy Seaver: My Mayflower Connections - 2. William White.</a>
* <a href="http://sherifenley.blogspot.com/2011/11/from-me-to-you-thanksgiving-video.html">A Thanksgiving Video</a>

Update:

* <a href="http://freya-newenglandgenealogy.blogspot.com/2011/11/mayflower-2011.html">Wendy Callahan's impressive list of Mayflower Ancestors</a> cousin! (Hopkins)
* <a href="http://granite-in-my-blood.blogspot.com/p/our-mayflower-lines.html">Midge Frazel's Mayflower lines</a>
* <a href="http://nutfieldgenealogy.blogspot.com/2011/11/my-mayflower-passenger-ancestors.html">Heather Wilkinson Rojo's Lines</a>
* <a href="http://lifefromtheroots.blogspot.com/2011/11/mayflower-ancestors-wordless-wednesday.html">Barbara Poole's Mayflower lines.</a>

And I humbly add my own to the list...

* <a href="http://www.familytreecircles.com/my-mayflower-connections-1-william-brewster-42989.html">My Mayflower Connections - William Brewster</a>
* <a href="http://www.familytreecircles.com/my-mayflower-connections-2-stephen-hopkins-42991.html">My Mayflower Connections - Stephen Hopkins</a>

Happy Thanksgiving to those of you here in the States.

Scott Jangro is the owner of FamilyTreeCircles.com and has documented roots back to Mayflower passengers Stephen Hopkins and William Brewster. If you're wondering what he's doing when he's mysteriously absent, here's some links to other stuff he's responsible for: about.me/jangro.
