Marjorie Doreen BAKER was born in Wellington 9 Oct 1905 - died 2000

- she was the second daughter of Charles Henry BAKER (1875-1956) & Elizabeth Fullerton BARKLEY (1872-1925) who married in 1902 and lived in Days Bay, Wellington

In March 1930 Marjorie Dorren Baker married Ferdinand Brandeis (born 24 Oct 1898 - died 1986)

the EVENING POST recorded the wedding:
.. A "pink" wedding was solemnised recently at the Kent Terrace Presbyterian Church, when Marjorie Doreen, second daughter of Mr C. H. Baker, Day's Bay, was married to Ferdinand BRANDEIS, elder son of Mrs A. CLOUSTON, Wellington (his mother, Isabel Constance Murray Clouston, nee STUBBS (1879-1939) had married his father Herr Johann Jacob BRANDEIS (1858-Feb 1929), a 1st class piano tuner with the Dresden Piano Company, in 1898 and separated in 1925, she remarried to Andrew Clouston in 1928).
The Rev. Gibson SMITH officiated.
The bride, who was escorted by her father, wore a charming shell pink georgette frock with tight-fitting bodice of pink silk lace. The skirt, with drooping uneven hem, reached to the ankles, while the long pink tulle veil fell from a cap of pink pearls and orange blossom. A pink and silver horse shoe hung from a dainty bouguet of pink sweet peas, carnations and maiden hair fern.
Miss Jean Baker was bridesmaid and wore an eau de nil crepe de chine frock with long pointed skirt, tight-fitting bodice and cape collar. Her hat was of eau de nil felt and tulle to tone, while her bouquet was of pink flowers and maiden hair fern.
Mr Emil Brandeis was best man born in 1904, Emil died 4 weeks after the wedding on 7 April aged 26 in a motor-cycle accident in Palmerston North. He was Vice-President of the Ixion Motor Cycle Club
After the reception Mr and Mrs Brandeis left for a motor tour of the North Island

- she was cremated at Karori, Wellington
Charles Baker died on 20 Jan 1956 aged 80
- he was cremated at Karori, Wellington

* Ferdinand's sister, Pretoria Pearl Brandeis, married Alexander Walter Furness in 1924
