Tattoo meanings - Samuel DINNER of Bristol, England convict transported to Australia

Trying to find out the meaning of all the tattoos that one of my 3g grandfathers had. Information sourced from ships' indent and his Ticket of Leave.

His name was Samuel DINNER born 1820 Bristol, England, his trade was an Engine Smith where he began an apprenticeship at 12 years of age. He was charged with 'picking pockets', trial was at the Bristol Quarter Sessions on 8 January 1839 where he was sentenced for 10 years to the colonies. He was transported to Australia via ship 'Barossa' which arrived in New South Wales with 336 male convicts. Samuel Dinner was No. 11 on the Indent List, Prisoner No. 39/1234. The 'Barrosa' arrived from England on 8th December 1839.

Occupation in Australia is listed as being a Blacksmith.

Tattoos:
Two wreaths, man, woman, SPSD on breast, SP and Fame on upper, crucifix, heart pierced with two darts, SD two fish, anchor, two smoking pipes, crown, two flags, bird on branch on lower right arm, blue ring on middle finger of right hand, woman on upper, man, woman, MDSD on lower left arm, SP on back of left wrist, SD seven dots on back of left hand.

Can anyone help with the tattoo meanings please?

BURGESS family from Sevenoaks, Kent, England to Greatford, Rangitiki, New Zealand

Looking to confirm the details I already have and to add more to my data.

In researching my mother-in-law's HUGHES line, I am now researching the BURGESS family.

Thomas (Tom) HUGHES (son of Stephen HUGHES and Eliza CHEESEMAN/SHORTER)
born 1866 Bearsted, Kent, England
died 22 Aug 1941 Public Hospital, Wanganui, NZ
buried Aramoho
NB Spoke fluent Maori

married Ada Sarah BURGESS
born 5 Nov 1876 Greatford, Rangitiki, NZ
died 11 Mar 1958 20 London St, Aramoho
buried Methodist section, Aramoho

4 children:-

1. Herbert Thomas HUGHES born 2 Jun 1897 20 London St, Aramoho died 28 Dec 1990 unknown location NZ married Connie {unknown}

2. Walter Henry HUGHES born 20 Jan 1903 20 London St, Aramoho, died 7 Jan 1979 unknown location NZ married 1930 Jeanie PHILLIPS born 10 Mar 1909 Gonville, Wanganui NZ died 30 Mar 2002 Porirua NZ buried Whenua Tapu Cemetery, Porirua

4. Myrtle Maryann Eliza HUGHES born 1908 20 London St, Aramoho died 1 Jul 1979 Wanganui, {burial details not known} married 1929 Folio No.05094 Thomas Gordon CAMPBELL who died in 1980 Wanganui, probate record occ Dyehand.

... Back to the BURGESS family ...

Ada Sarah BURGESS 1876-1958 probably came from a large family. Lately I have managed to find two sisters and her parents names.

Sibling Lillian BURGESS born 1875 NZ died 23 Jul 1958 NZ married unknown male NAGEL who it is known was killed in the railways. She then married Thomas COLEMAN and they had two children, Maisie and Inez. {no other details known}

Sibling Bertha BURGESS born {unknown} died {unknown} married unknown NAGEL who was the brother of Lillian's husband. {no other details known}.

The BURGESS children - their parents were Henry BURGESS and Mary Ann GILES. Henry BURGESS was born 1849 England and died 12 Jun 1917 NZ. Mary Ann GILES was born 1850 England died 16 Nov 1931 NZ. They were from Sevenoaks in Kent, England. I don't know where the couple are buried. But they came out to New Zealand aboard the ship 'Cartvale' in 1874.

Can someone lookup a marriage folio ref of 0982 in 1866 please for BURGESS and GILES?

Thanks,
Alison.
