Baptized August 25th, 1754, Abberley, Worcestershire, spelt "Eynet" in baptismal record. The Eynett or Inett family had been resident in the district since at least 1549. Ann Inett was arrested in Grimley in 1785, found guilty of housebreaking at Worcester Guildhall, and sentenced to death at the Lent Assizes of 1786. Her sentence was subsequently commuted to "seven years beyond the seas" - transportation to Botany Bay. She went out on the First Fleet to Australia 1787-8 on board the Lady Penrhyn. She had two sons by Philip Gidley King (1758-1808), third Governor of New South Wales, and later married Yorkshire convict Richard John Robinson with whom she kept a pub The Yorkshire Grey in Sydney. Richard returned 1819 to England, Ann returned in 1820, and possibly attended the christening in Worcester of her granddaughter Mary Ann Robinson Guy, and died c. 1825. She was probably also reunited in Worcester c. 1820 with son Sydney Inett King. So far there is no later record of Ann or her husband. See Ann Inett of Abberley, Worcestershire 1754 - circa 1825.
