My gggrandfather was Charles Joseph Amor, born 5/12/1872 in Devizes, Bromham, Wiltshire to George and Ann Hatter of Mill Lane, Chittoe, Bishop Cannings.
I had run into a road block some time ago have been focusing on other branches of my family. I decided to take another look at the Amors today and happened upon this site. Very interesting information!
I would be interested in hearing from anyone who believes they many have a connection to North America.

My ancestors were AMORs from Wiltshire, England. There have been AMORs there for over 500 years. See Moonrakers website.

Lots of records for AMORs at FamilySearch.

Thanks Allycat. I have been on Moonrakers, Rootsweb, familysearch and am also a member of Ancestry and New England Historical Genealogical which has a lot of information on immigrants from the UK. I'll check out RootsChat.
