I am Daniel Anthony Russo. My mother is Josie Mae York. Her mother was Grace Angela Daugherty. She had a cousin named Lola Lemon who said she had done the complete Lemon Tree. But she died before I ever saw it. Lola told my mother she could not just send her a page or two, but would have to show her the whole book. Somehow my mother was not inclined to go the long distance to see the book. Since it was never copied for us, we never saw it.
Later, Ridgely Simpers, a Federal worker, did the York tree, and found that my mother, whose father was a descendent of Esther Kersey, was related to two of Edward II's sons. Through Michael Emmitt York, I am descended from Edward II, Isabella II, and so all of the kings and queens of France back to Charles the Great, and to all of the Anglo-Saxon Kings of England back to Eric the Red, the first King of England.
There is a branch off to St. Stephen, brother of King Amos, the first King of Hungary in 1054AD.
Abraham Lincoln and Richard Nixon were also descended from Edward I the father of Edward II. I am also related to William the Conqueror, George Washington, George III, Henry VIII, and even Edward VII, the King who abidicated his throne for "the woman I love".
Jeanne Westin, in her book, How to Find Your Roots, says that the human race is one big family, and so that we are all probably related to everyone we meet. I am English, Irish, Scottish (McPherson), Welsch, Hungarian, Polish, Italian, and there is some Russian Royalty off of the York line too.
