Russell McCARTY from Lima, OH

My sister is going to Ireland this summer and I want to give her a list of specifics to research for McCARTY there. We never met our grandfather, Russell. He was born in Lima, OH in 1913, to William Rufus McCARTY and Della EVERHART. William was born in Ohio on 28 MAR, 1878, and his father Andrew J. McCARTY was born in Ohio in APR, 1847. His father, Benjamin, was born in 1779, three years after the start of the Revolutionary War, probably in Pennsylvania. He died in PA 5 APR, 1861. I'd like to converse with "cousins" who are also researching this family.

JulyWolfe on 2011-11-28 10:26:14Can you tell me anything about him that might help me complete my research? We know nothing about his life after he and my grandmother parted. I believe he went back to Ohio from their home in Michigan.
In return, if you would like, I can give you information on the family history. I did manage to trace him all the way back to Ireland. The first William McCarty came to America back in the 1600s, very unusual. Most immigrants from Ireland came in the 1800s. Thank You.
