I believe I have found my biological father, something I've been waiting for for over 40 years. All of the peices and research, etc. fit together. I am doing a genealogy tree, and have only done my Mom's side, all the way back to 500 AD! I must confirm that this is him for sure. My Mom said his name was Jerry Humpfrey and that he was from the Fayetteville, NC area. She also said that he was somewhat older. She lived in Walden, NY and she got pregnant with me in late 1962. I was born July 19th, 1963. This Jerry, "Jerry Harvice Humpfrey" dob 11/9/1940 fits the bill. The University of NC sent me the birth index from the year 1800 till current on all Jerry/Gerald Humpfreys to review. I have narrowed it down to him out of 20 or so after a process of elimination. He is the only Jerry that can directly relate to being my real father. He is 6 years older, My Mom was 16 when she had me-he was 22. He has lived in several towns near our town- Walden, NY. He now lives in Amsterdam, NY. I have mapped it out. I believe that he came to Ellenville, NY in 1962. This is the final peice of proof I need before I contact him. I do not want to be wrong! I have actually spoken to his neighbor, and she saw my picture on facebook and can see the similarities! Also, this birth index record shows his father to be Horace G. Humpfrey, and he was born in Onslow County, NC.

Once this is confirmed, can I ask for a paternity test? I want medical history and family genealogical history. I want to know my nationalities, the other half of me!

So, proof of being in NY in 1962, how to obtain it, how to contact him, and how to I get the necessary information I'm looking for! If you can help me, you would be my Miracle Maker! I look forward to hearing from you!
