Gottfried is one of four brothers (Gottfried, Wilhelm, Christian & Johann) who immigrated to America in the 1800's. Their native country was Switzerland and their family lived near Interlaken. An older brother of the four, Frederick, remained in Switzerland. Only Gottfried stayed in the United States. The other three went on to homestead in Alberta & B.C., Canada. I hope to write and add here, a more detailed story of their migration. Gottfried is the husband of one of my paternal grand aunts, Maggie Blatter.
